I’m a cartoon!

Blogged in Just Stuff by Jenni Friday November 28, 2008

Wednesday night was my Christmas dinner for my ‘other’ job - I’m a nurse and I work in an Endoscopy clinic.

You do what ?

Look it up!

Anyway I LOVE that job as it’s a lot of fun, and I work with a fantastic team - so we had a ball at the Christmas dinner, my cheeks were sore from laughing. Anyhoo, the point of this is that we had a Caricaturist (I think I made that word up) there, and he drew all of us. He’s the bloke who draws Ginger Megs now, and he’s so fast at what he does, AND he uses a Tombow pen LOL!

So, if you’ve wondered what I look like, here is the LESS attractive version

Actually, I wish I looked half as yummy as that!! That’s a card in my hand - if you look closely you will see a sneak peek at a brand new Summer Mini catalogue set……. KIDDING!

Back to posting some papercraft again tomorrow! (Or later today depending on how organised I am for the Stamp-A-Stack tomorrow!)

Another special offer!

9 The Expo - Official Details!

Blogged in Stampin' Up! by Jenni Wednesday November 19, 2008

How exciting, it’s getting close now!

Hope to see you there, come and say hello!

Another offer - just in time for last minute Christmas Cards!

Blogged in by Jenni Tuesday November 18, 2008

While I was waiting for Bones to start last night, and half listening to a dull documentary on John Howard (sorry Trace, politics are not my thang!), I got out a couple of supplies and made 7 quick, simple little Christmas cards.

These are actually for display on the weekend for ‘9 The Expo’ here in Gisborne.

Details of the expo are…..

  • When - Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November
  • Time - 10am - 4pm
  • Where - The new Nexus Centre, at Nexus Way, off Prince and Goode Streets, in Gisborne.
  • What - It’s going to be full of local businesses from each of the 9 surrounding townships - so you can be more aware of what our little area has to offer you. There are kids activities all day too. Check the Leader Newspaper for more details on what’s on offer.
  • Who - One of my downlines, Sarah Williams and I will have a stand at the expo, and we’ll be making the upper right hand side card as a freebie if you’d like to come and visit us. We’ll have special offers and gift certificates available, so come and say hello!
  • Cost - FREE ENTRY TO THE EXPO!

Now, the reason I made all those cards, in only an hour mind you, was because we are going to be offering a special on those products at the show, but I’m happy to offer it to anyone else who hasn’t got cracking on their Christmas cards yet!!

SEASON OF JOY BUNDLE

  • $51.95 Season of Joy stamp set (Set of 8!)
  • $13.50 Naturals Ivory Cardstock (40 sheets )
  • $ 9.95 Purely Pomegranate Inkpad
  • $ 9.95 Always Artichoke Inkpad
  • $91.30 TOTAL including shipping and handling.

Now the total for these products are normally $91.30 including postage and handling. The bundle is going for only $80, plus we will throw in a pack of Stampin’ Dimensionals valued at $7.50 as well, so you can get some layering happening on your cards!

If you stick to the size I have made, which is one third of an A4 sheet for each card base, you can make up approximately 100 Christmas cards, allowing for some sheets of cardstock to use for layering images. AND you only need to replace the cardstock to continue making great cards!

NB Colours of inkpads and cardstock can be changed to suit what you like and stamp set exchanged for one of equal or lesser value!

You can order this special deal from anywhere in Australia, and it will be shipped straight to your door.

Email me on jenni.oliver@hotkey.net.au or phone 0403 023707 to order!

Time is of the essence though, the Season of Joy stamp set is only available until the 30th November 2008!

Oops no stamping!

Blogged in Cards, Stampin' Up! by Jenni Monday November 17, 2008

Oh dear, this seems to be happening a bit now that I’ve discovered Rub-Ons! Never mind, they make for quick easy cards, and would make the beginner cardmakers creativity flow, and get them hooked into cardmaking quicker, whereupon they would expand into stamping as well, and I would have created another addict! Muahahahahahaaaa!

Oops. Did I think it, or did I type it?

Doh!

Anyway, back to the subject at hand - another card I finished at my team play day on Saturday…

Gosh it came up HUGE! Never mind, you can see the detail better - pretend I made it big on purpose.

Yep - still using up the ol’ Blooms Diecuts, and Summer Picnic DSP. The Rub-On is from the Cherished set, and I’ve finally almost used it all up, with the help of my downlines on Saturday. The Blooms diecuts on the other hand are still going strong! I’m tellin’ ya, if you haven’t got yourself a pack yet you will KICK yourself for missing out at the end of November, they’re only $16.50!

Cardstock colours are Old Olive, Real Red, and Bashful Blue - and that’s the 5/8 inch grosgrain ribbon there too, in Old Olive.

Phew another one down, back again tomorrow!

Another post - hoopla!

Blogged in by Jenni Sunday November 16, 2008

I got back from a Christmas Stamp-A-Stack this afternoon, where I’d had a reeeeeally good idea for the Blooms diecuts…. well, not really the diecuts themselves, but the offcuts!

AND I HAD TO DO IT NOW!

I already had thought the sheet that the diecuts pop out of would be great to keep as a template for tracing a billion more flowers and shapes in whatever colour you’d like, but it hit me that you could also use it for SPONGING the shapes in whatever colour ink you’d like!

See what I did? I sponged onto Whisper White cardstock with Pale Plum ink and a Sponge Dauber using a medium flower ‘negative’, then I laid the smaller 5 petal flower over the top and sponged again with Perfect Plum! The flower has been trimmed out and sponged on the edges with Perfect Plum. I used some images from the Level 2 Hostess set ‘In the Spotlight’ to complete the card, with Mellow Moss ink. I put White Gel Pen dots on the Perfect Plum part of the flower to make it ‘match’ the In the Spotlight images which are dotty on the edges.

I might have a go at stamping the small centre first next time, and then build up a huge flower around it, sponging only near the edge of the template rather than the whole thing. Hmmmmmmmmm the possiblities!!

Thanks for looking, normal broadcasting will resume tomorrow!

I knew it!

Blogged in by Jenni Saturday November 15, 2008

I just knew I wouldn’t be able to keep up with a daily post LOL! But the GOOD news is that my team meeting stamping day has just finished, and I made a record 6 items! So there’s nearly a weeks worth right there!!! I’ll put up a quickie now, and get the others in the system ASAP!

I was inspired by Teresa at the Regional Training day last week, to have another go at a Diorama card. These are so much fun, and so cute too. I’m still using up my Spring Mini catalogue stuff at the moment - so much of it I have just loved, and will be sad to see it go.

It’s really a bit hard to take a photo of these!! So many layers that the camera doesn’t know which bit to focus in on! I’ve used Bashful Blue, Real Red and Old Olive cardstock with a bit of Summer Picnic DSP, and used up some more of my Blooms Diecut flowers. Some more rub ons from the Cherished set, and it’s done!

Wait till you see what the others made today, and what I finished too - it’s absolutely amazing how far those Blooms Diecuts go - 4 sheets of 12 x 12 flowers and circles. And I STILL haven’t finished ONE pack!

Don’t forget that if you spend $20 this month, our Rub-On’s are 20% off!

This is the card again, outside in the dappled sunlight, so you can see the depth a bit better.

Thanks for looking, back SOON!!

My third quickie!

Blogged in Stampin' Up! by Jenni Tuesday November 11, 2008

Yes, it’s another one - and you’re all probably amazed that I’m keeping up with posting once a day. Well my little secret is that I learnt how to schedule my posts in advance, muahahahahahaaa! Now I can sit and write a few posts in a row, but it seems like I’ve been updating each day. Hoopla!

Ok, here it is….

Again, it’s really a simple card, poshed up with the Rub-On’s and a bit of ribbon!

I used the same technique on this orange image from the Tart & Tangy set, as yesterdays card - I stamped off once, and then reinked the rubber with my Pumpkin Pie marker around the orange’s rind. It’s a great way to get two tones with the one marker don’t you think?

I tore the edges of my Summer Picnic DSP to add a bit of texture too, and layered the orange image with Real Red, and Pumpkin Pie, using the 1 3/8 circle punch and scallop circle punch. That Real Red flower underneath it all is from the Blooms diecuts. You know, you can keep the diecut sheet once all the flowers and shapes are pushed out, and use it as a template to cut even MORE flowers and shapes. How cool is that!

Again, the Tart & Tangy stamp set is only going to be available for purchase until the end of November, as are the Blooms diecuts, and Summer Picnic DSP. Check out my bundle offer in the previous post!!

Another Quickie

Blogged in , Cards, Stampin' Up! by Jenni Monday November 10, 2008

Ooh, as promised, another quick one that I did while I was away in Echuca.

For this one I used my markers in Real Red and Old Olive to ink up the apple image from Tart & Tangy. I stamped onto scrap paper first to get rid of most of the ink, and then inked the outline and stem again with the markers to stamp onto the Whisper White. I didn’t want the whole apple to be as red as the outside, if that makes sense.

I’ve used Real Red and Old Olive  cardstock, and just added a little piece of the Olive apple DSP underneath the main image. A tiny piece of Real Red 5/8 inch grosgrain ribbon and another rubon, and it was finished!

Now some of the products I took away with me are from the Spring Mini catalogue, which finishes up at the end of November… so there’s not much time to get hold of them!

As I had so much fun with just a few products myself, I thought it might be nice to offer a little ‘bundle’ of goodies for ordering, so you can have a play as well….

Tart & Tangy Bundle

  • $21.95 Tart & Tangy Stamp Set
  • $16.50 Blooms Diecuts

  • $4.95 Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker

  • $4.95 Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker
  • $11.95 Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper
  • $21.00 ANY two packs of single colour cardstock (Real Red, Bashful Blue, Old Olive or Pumpkin Pie.

This lot would normally cost $107.16, but you can have it for $100 even, plus postage ($5.95), and I will add an extra pack of one of the suggested single colour cardstock packs! That’s nearly an extra $18.00 worth of product for no cost to you!

You can also expect a little ribbon sample in the mail as a gift from me too, with the Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain, Real Red 5/8 inch Grosgrain, and some 1/4 inch Pumpkin Pie grosgrain too, to help you complete your cards.
