What the?!

Blogged in Cards, Stampin' Up! by Jenni Sunday August 31, 2008

Where on earth did the last two weeks go? Sheesh!

Here’s a quick card to make me feel less guilty about my poor neglected blog….

The colour is not quite true in the photo, as I was taking it too late in the day - it’s Taken with Teal and Whisper White. The flowers are from the Pretties kit, and I’ve lightly sponged the second layer with Taken with Teal. There’s a teal’ish Ice Rhinestone in the centre, and the rest of the card is very simple - the swirls are from a Christmas set, called Season of Joy - in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Mini Catalogue currently. The Happy Birthday is from It’s Your Birthday. The background is stamped with my old fave, Paisley.

Hope you like it, now it’s back to the coal mines for me!

A Birthday Gift

Blogged in by Jenni Saturday August 16, 2008

It seems to me, that almost every week, one, two or all three of my children come home with invitations to birthday parties. I used to design flash birthday cards for each child, but it was becoming hard to find the time to be honest!

The last card I made I kept really simple, by using a Love Note sized card.  I used the Classic Stars Stampin’ Around Jumbo wheel to make a short strip of the image, in Wild Wasabi. Then I took the two star punches, and chose a couple of images to punch out, which I then layered on one another.

The base card was stamped with the little swirly image from Season of Joy, and Ethan’s name using the  Short Order Alphabet.

See how I stamped it crookedly on purpose so they’d know it was handmade? *insert a very innocent look here* I then used a Stampin Dimensional foam piece to adhere the stars to the card.

Simple hey!

And here it is on top of the present, wrapped using plain paper with the Classic Stars Jumbo Stampin’ Around wheel, and Wild Wasabi ink.

I think the kids in Gisborne are going to be seeing a few more of these coming their way! :D

August Christmas Stamp A Stack

Blogged in Cards, Classes, Stampin' Up! by Jenni Saturday August 16, 2008

Well finally, here’s the August Christmas Stamp A Stack cards I’ve designed for my class here in Gisborne next week.  These two use the brand new set from the Spring Mini Catalogue, called Season of Joy - no other stamp sets are used at all! It’s a pretty versatile set!

This class is actually already full, but if you’re interested in hosting a Stamp A Stack at your own home and making these cards, please contact me - I’ll try to fit you into my schedule!

Thanks for looking! I’ll be designing the September Christmas cards soon, and putting them up a LOT earlier!

New Spring Mini Catalogue

Blogged in Stampin' Up! by Jenni Saturday August 9, 2008

At last I have some time to post about the new Spring Mini released on 1st August! It’s full of fantastic new stamp sets, papers, rubons, ribbons…… sigh. Sooo nice!

Here’s a little gift bag I made using a cellophane bag, some of the new Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon, and a brand new stamp set called Tags for All. I can’t believe the only lollies in the house were Purely Pomegranate and Old Olive!! Lucky for me hey! LOL!

I used the horizontal slot punch to punch out two holes in the Old Olive tag, and then threaded the ribbon through and used it to tie up the top of the cellophane bag - that way the tag sits nice and flat on the bag. The bottom of the tag is scalloped using the old corner rounder trick, and I’ve trimmed out the Purely Pomegranate circle by hand, from an extra image I stamped.

Hope you like it! I know I’ll be making more of these for quick teacher gifts at the end of the year! Tee hee!
