Holiday in Paradise
Paradise Beach on the 90 Mile Beach that is!
We spent the first week of the school holidays ’camping’ down at Paradise Beach, and had a pretty good time. The kids were great, and aside from having a headache and muscle aches for the first three days, I had a great time too. (It was nothing a few painkillers and some naps during the day couldn’t fix ;) )
Now usually we see a lot of wildlife down there, in the insect form of mosquitoes and bull ants, so it was a nice surprise to actually see some of our Aussie wildlife as well this time. (Yep the mozzies and ants were still there in force, along with some moths for a change)
This is the sight that greeted us when we opened the door of the shed one morning, they were only a metre or so away, and I thought one was pretty special - but seeing the second one nearby was really fantastic!

The one near the flowering tree sat there while I did the dishes underneath it!
The next couple we saw were a pair of either kangaroo’s or wallabies, I’m not sure which they were! This was on the little track down to the beach.

So cute.
And finally, well the last photo anyway (we also saw a tortoise and a goanna crossing the road at one stage), there was a seal cavorting up and down the beach when we went fishing one of the days! It was quite close to shore, and diving in and out of the water having a fabbo time. Of course the camera makes everything tiny, but rest assured, that blurry black spot is a seal LOL!

The roasting of marshmellows each night on the campfire was the icing on the cake of a really nice holiday!!
