Hey!! About Sell-A-Bration…..

Blogged in by Jenni Monday February 26, 2007

Ummm, well I sent this out to my customers, and forgot to post it here, but I am running a little competition until the end of Sell-A-Bration, which is THIS Wednesday, 28th February.

Apart from earning free sets by spending $100 or more, as an added bonus I have decided to hold a give-a-way! Everyone (including workshop guests) who has ordered during January and February, and qualified for a Sell-A-Bration set, will be entered into a draw to win a second Sell-A-Bration set of their choice!

I am holding the draw at 12 noon on Wednesday the 28th of February, so if you’d like a chance to win, please make sure you have your qualifying order to me prior to that!

Click on the link to Stampin’ Up! on the right hand side of this page, if you’d like to see the Idea Book & Catalogue, and the Sell-A-Bration catalogue.

This is another card I made using the Happy Harmony set that I am loving so much. The colours are Cameo Coral and Old Olive, I’ve randomly stamped the flower image and all the sentiments all over the base card in Cameo Coral ink. The main image is stamped using the direct to rubber technique - using Cameo Coral, Ruby Red and Old Olive markers. I love how this has turned out. A bow of Olive organza ribbon to finish and voila!

And watch this space on the 1st of March….. :)

Well THAT didn’t work!

I had a BRILLIANT idea the other day, after I’d seen the fabulous photo’s Claire’s son had taken of her, making her look all groovy and artistic and well, gorgeous. I would get Quinn to take MY photo! What brilliance! What inspiration! What a shame it didn’t work out!!

I had gotten my Stampin’ Up!® Apron in the mail , with it’s big pink ‘Stampin’ Start Achiever’ patch boldly embroidered onto the front, as a reward for achieving all three levels of the incentive program Stampin’ Up!® offers when you join up (and earning myself FIFTEEN free sets of my choice as well, thankyou very much!!). Naturally I wore it around the house for a bit, then had my fantastic photo idea.

Enter Quinn….. photographer extraordinaire, child prodigy with a camera….

Well definitely arty, abstract, edgy…… perhaps a little bit left of gorgeous, but he’s only 3 :P

Published!

Yee ha!

Well, I’ve been patiently waiting for my contributors copy to arrive, but I just couldn’t wait anymore! I had to buy it!

These are in the current issue of Australian Papercrafts #61, and they’re using all Stampin’ Up!® stamps and cardstock - I love these colours together! I’ve used Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie and Summer Sun, for both the cardstock, and the colouring with Watercolour Wonder crayons.

They are actually part of a set of ten cards, made with the One Sheet Wonder technique.

Thanks for looking, and tolerating my shameless self promotion :P

Happy Harmony

Blogged in by Jenni Friday February 9, 2007

I finally got a bit of time in the last week or so, and started creating again! Hooray!

This one I made for someone who is a terrific friend and has been a lifesaver this past year or so - even though she is interstate and I’ve only met her twice in real life!

[photopress:Happy_Harmony_B_day_Card_Tracey.JPG,full,pp_empty]

I’ve used Happy Harmony, one of the exclusive Sell-A-Bration sets, and teamed it up with the Canvas Background. Colours are Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. The flower image is coloured using the Poppin’ Pastels technique that you can find in your Stampin’ Techniques booklets that come with your orders. If you don’t have one of these and would like one, just drop me a line!

I also got cracking with this Happy Harmony set and made some door prizes for workshops I’m doing this month… sooo quick to make! Again I used the Poppin’ Pastels technique, but this time the colours are Pale Plum and Mellow Moss.

OK so our lawn (read ‘weeds’ there) needs mowing, but aren’t the post-it note holders noice?

Another layout!

Blogged in by Jenni Thursday February 8, 2007

I finally managed to convert this 8 x 8 layout of Amy in Grade one, into 12 x 12 so it would fit nicely into my Stampin’ Up!® album.

I’ve used the Pockets and Pieces in Chocolate Chip, and teamed it with Tempting Turquoise. The Turquoise strips along the side and bottom are from the Simply Scrappin’® pack that was in the Mini Catalogue (no longer available - sorry!), and I’ve used… Heartfelt Thanks, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Shape-Ups, Canvas Background, Floral Background, Word by Word Background and the Whimsical lowercase alphabet.

[photopress:AMY_GRADE_1_12X12.JPG,full,pp_empty]

The back of the tag that her photo is on, has some journalling about her best friends that year, her teacher’s names, any special information I wanted her to remember (like how her favourite thing about school is swinging on the monkey bars LOL!)

I’m not great at using patterned paper for layouts, so it’s really nice to be able to use my stamps to create my own :).

AND now I have three whole layouts in my album. Just one more to convert to 12 x 12 and I’ll have FOUR in there. Is that enough???

First Day of School

Blogged in by Jenni Thursday February 8, 2007

Well I’ve been a bit quiet on here, because it’s been the start of another school year, and I’m just trying to settle into an almost child free routine, after being in a two kids still at home routine for what seems like FOREVER. It’s actually been really lovely to be here just with Quinn. Before this year I could not wait to get them all off to school, and couldn’t imagine feeling anything but complete and utter elation when I was finally home alone :) . Now I can see that I will probably be one of those teary mothers at the school gate, getting just one more cuddle, one more kiss… who would have thought!?

Here is a cute pic of the two girls just before they headed off for the first day last week. Amy is in Grade Two this year, Kelsey is my little Preppie.

                [photopress:2_cuties_starting_school.JPG,full,pp_empty]

They are both doing so well already, and I’m really proud of Kels - she’s gone along with no tears, and a very grown up attitude. It helps to have a big sister there I guess!
